MY APPROACH

Wedding photography that is relaxed, natural, & a little bit editorial...

TELLING YOUR STORY

Your wedding day is one epic story and it’s my job to tell it for you through my images. My clients always say that having me photograph their wedding is like having a good friend do it, and that is my little philosophy for how I photograph weddings, capturing them as a part of it and not as just an observer. Taking this approach allows me to create the truest and most authentic view of your day. My style is very much candid editorial, which basically means I capture your day as naturally as possible, while looking amazing!

KEEPING IT NATURAL

Your wedding day is not a photoshoot, it’s a day of love, happiness, and joy and it’s my job to capture it all in a stylish and natural way. I always endeavour to photograph your wedding in the most natural way possible, and I find that my easy going and disarming manner really helps me to achieve this. Putting my couples and their guests at ease in this way allows them to truly be themselves in front of the camera, giving me the best images of you and your guests enjoying your wedding.

IT'S A JOURNEY

From pre-wedding meetings, to engagement shoots and the big day itself, I am there to be help throughout your entire journey. Using my wedding experience, I am always happy to offer advice and guidance on how to improve your day. From supplier recommendations to the pros and cons of different times of the year, I love to help where I can!

THE MORNING OF YOUR WEDDING

Whether it’s Bridal prep or Groom prep, this part of a wedding is so important to capture, telling the story of the build up to the main event. I often find it creates some of the most intimate moments between the Bride or Groom and their friends and family. Not to mention all of the laughs that happen during these early hours of the day! If you and your partner are both getting ready in the same location then I will always cover both, however if one of you is getting ready elsewhere you may need a second photographer to properly capture their morning.

THE NUPTIALS

During the ceremony is where I will be most visible to you and your guests. I will be there with you, capturing every moment and emotion between you and your partner. This part of your day will be a blur so you’ll want every second to be captured. From the nerves of the groom, to the bride walking down the aisle, I will be at the front to capture every moment. If working with a second photographer, they will be capturing everything from the back of the venue but if it's just me, I will move around to get the shots of your family and friends in the audience.

CAPTURING YOUR WEDDING STYLE

I know a lot of effort goes into decision making around how your wedding is styled, from stationery to florals, and from jewellery to bridal shoes. From photos of absent family members, to floral stylings, table settings, bridal flat lays and guest books, I always cover this side of your day so that you don't forget these important details. I always capture the bridal and groom details in the morning along with the ceremony setup, and I take 5 minutes during the drinks reception to photograph your wedding breakfast set up.

CONFETTI CELEBRATION

In my opinion, a confetti tunnel is a must if you can! Not only does it always look great in photos but it's also so much fun! I will help get your guests into a tunnel for you to walk down, making sure they know what they are doing so they don't just throw the confetti straight at your faces! Don’t forget to keep your head up, keep smiling, and if you can go for an epic kiss half way down for that killer shot! My personal recommendation is to go for paper biodegradable confetti if you can, it just looks better on camera and really catches the wind.

COCKTAILS & CANAPÉS

Your drinks reception will be one the most enjoyable parts of your day, and it's one where I get the chance to get the most natural photos of you and your guests celebrating your marriage! From the post confetti hugs, to those quiet moments with your parents and new in-laws, to your friends seeing you in your wedding dress up close for the first time, there are so many amazing moments to capture. I love capturing everyone having a great time during the reception in a natural way, but I also like getting ad hoc portraits of your guests, couples, and friends groups as well during this time. Don't forget to stick with your partner during the reception so you can enjoy it together (this is easier sad than done - trust me!).

GROUP PHOTOS

Group family and friends photos are some of the most important and are often the ones that get passed down the generations so I always encourage my couples to do them. I create posed and more relaxed group shots during the reception, more fun ones with your wedding party, and ad hoc ones throughout the day. I always advise my couples to limit the number of group shots to those nearest and dearest to them so they don’t spend too long in front of the camera and end up missing out on all the champagne and canapés! I consult with my couples on the best way to do them as part of our pre-wedding planning consultation meeting.

A MOMENT TOGETHER

Couple portraits are often the most feared part of the day for couples, so I work to make them relaxed, super quick and natural. Not only will we create some beautiful portraits of you together, but it will also give you a chance to take a breather from the craziness of the day. I take my couples on a short stroll around their venue just before the wedding breakfast, and again in the evening, allowing us time to create intimate yet classy editorial-style images. I will direct where I need to but really I just ask my couples to focus on each other and be present with each other.

WEDDING BREAKFAST

The wedding breakfast accounts for a large part of your wedding day and it provides so many great photo opportunities. From speeches to food service, from guests reactions to glasses being raised, I always take time to capture these moments. The speeches at your wedding can be some of the most moving parts of the day as well, with laughter and joy in equal measure, so whether you do them before or after the food service, I will be on hand to capture every toast and every cheers.

LET'S DANCE

I always stay well into the night at your wedding to get images of everyone partying into the evening - and most importantly going for it on the dance floor! I love to get in amongst the dance floor to capture those moments that really show how much of a good time everyone was having  at your wedding! You, your partner, and your wedding party set the tone for your dance floor. So if you want a good party, you have to bring the party and make sure you stay on the dance floor after the first dance for as long as possible!
